Still Going Smoothly

We went for our next Dr.s appointment yesterday afternoon and everything is going as expected. Dr. Schroeder was very cheery (just got back from Hawaii) and talked quite a long time with us. She explained all of the things that will happen with twins, and what her suggestions are. She would prefer to deliver the babies C-section but said she would do a scan right before the "Main Event" to let Betsy decide for sure what she wants.

We heard their heartbeats, 152 and 159, and both sounded great! It was hard to distinguish one from the other because they are so close together, but with a little patience, we heard them both, very distinctly. We didn't do an ultrasound at this visit, but will have one at the next appointment in early July. The next scan will tell the sex of both babies and determine how far along they really are. The Dr. told us that she expects the babies to arrive anywhere from November 2nd to no later than November 16th, even though the original due date was in Dec.

We've had 2 great weekends recently. We went to Lake Monroe just south of Bloomington, IN and spent Memorial Day weekend on the boat, as well as last Sunday on the Ohio River here in Evansville.
Betsy says that the babies really enjoy the gentle rocking of the boat and don't mind listening to Jimmy Buffett and Cardinal's baseball on the water.

We're still very excited and continue to read a lot and get more prepared. We've gone through lots of names, lots of magazines, and lots of ideas on colors and designs for their room. None of it has been overwhelming and is so much fun to do. We can't wait to start putting furniture together and decorating. It's the painting that we're not looking forward to and we have a grandma-to-be that has already volunteered (Yessssss!)

Hope all is well with you and your family and we'll post again soon!
