Betsy and I just completed a full week of vacation and spent the entire time on the river. We can officially say we have spent as much time as we could on the boat this summer and have the tan's to prove it. We spent a couple of nights sleeping at the marina and had a great time visiting with fellow "river rats." Some good friends invited us to spend the 4th with them on their boat (N.A.P. Time) and we cruised up to the Evansville river front for the fireworks show. It was a little cool but we had a great view from the water with lots of "Ooos" and "Ahs".
We also had our latest Doctor's appointment and we got the info that we have been anxiously waiting for. We can clearly identify Max (Baby A) and Molly (Baby B) *click on pictures for larger view* and can report that they are doing really well. Max is below Molly and was very active during the ultrasound. Between flips and flops we found that he measures at 18 weeks and had a heartbeat of 152 beats/minute. Molly was laying the the "frog" position most of the time and didn't move much at the beginning. She measures 17 weeks and had a heartbeat of 145 beats/minute. While measuring Molly and listening to her heart, Max kept sticking his head in the picture. Molly finally gave him a push with her foot as if to say "hey, it's my turn."
Betsy is feeling well and her belly is getting a little bigger every day. She has started to feel some of the flutters but not any major movements yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until she feels their every move.
The Dr. said that everything looks great and that Betsy is doing really well. She didn't see a need to go to the 2 week appointments yet, so the next appointment will be at the end of this month.
We also got to celebrate a good friend of ours 30th birthday, along with his son's 1st birthday. Dan and his son Blake share July 7th together and had a good party yesterday afternoon. Blake made a mess of his cake and laughed the whole time. He has recently started walking and has become very animated, much like his father.
Hope all is well with you and your family and we'll post again soon.
